This is for a one week set of daily number sense activities for 3rd or 4th grade students. This weeks activities focus on the concepts of multiplication, division and place value. Students are engaged with the same types of problems all week long so they develop a familiarity while gaining a deeper understanding of the concepts. Fraction Multiplication activity using deck of cards, 5.NF.B.4
This is a 1 page activity for fraction by fraction multiplication and fraction by whole number multiplication. that I used with small groups of two students. Students draw cards from a face down deck to fill in the fraction and whole number boxes (they arranged the cards in whatever way they chose to create the fractions). After filling in all the boxes, student groups solved the problems. This is a Publisher file so that buyers can edit it to meet their needs but I am happy to email you a .pdf

Model multiplication on this easy-to-use PowerPoint. My 3rd graders absolutely loved this activity! No- low prep activity. > Can use ONLY the power point. > I printed the number line off for each student and placed it in a sheet protector. > I cut out the frogs and taped them to a dry erase marker for them to use on their own number line.
