I have students use their textbook to complete this sheet on parts and functions of the compound light microscope. It allows students to gain their own knowledge without simply copying notes from the board. The blanks in the functions require students to use the functions given to them in their textbook and/or other sources and apply knowledge learned. I find this activity to be very effective.

Identify Variables with Graphs

This product is intended to be a class set handout (students answer on their own paper) that asks students to identify the independent and dependent variables of graphs. By doing so, they quickly see the pattern and are empowered to easily identify these variables in the future, with confidence. This is intended to be a class set, but can be edited easily as it is a Word document. Also, it is more powerful when combined with my other resources for identifying variables, "Identify Variables
