Boots, Shoes, Where are you going?! Creative Writing Activity

Using the watercolor techniques of my first lesson, this is an activity used to stimulate creative writing. Where did you go with that boot on? You can actually use any shoe. I used to have students take off their own shoe and draw it and paint it. The enthusiasm is real and along with a writing prompt. You'll be amazed at the creativity. You can also do as in the picture by having students add appropriate vocabulary.

This pairs nicely with EL Education or any other curriculum that needs students to have an accountable independent reading documented. The size of the boxes fit 3 x 3 sticky notes with a little extra room, so the kids can place sticky notes onto them independently! You could print them in color and laminate for reuse or the kids can write directly on it-no sticky notes needed.
