Students will have an easy to read notes page explaining the symbols 'greater than', 'less than', and 'equal to' for their math notebook. On the back are two strategies that work well for all learners to remember how to orient the inequality. Dots strategy: The larger number gets two dots and the smaller number gets one dot. Connect the lines between the larger and smaller number to make the inequality. Bird Beak strategy (my FAVORITE): Circle the larger number and then make it a bird by a

Array Math Journal

Miss M's Little Shop proudly presents to you this wonderful Array Journal. I have used this many times in math centers, or morning work. To set this up I either create an array with math manipulatives, or have my students create their own. Then students draw their array, after the students write what the array is, and how they solved it. An example response would be; "This is a 3 by 4 array which equals 12. I know this because I counted each dot. There are 3 rows and 4 columns. So 3x4=12."

Write an equation for the problem. S= Solve and check. Is your answer reasonable? My version also included an example problem that has been marked according to the st
