I was finding that I needed a resource/anchor chart for my students to refer to throughout the year for better understanding and fluency with the addition strategy of doubles and near doubles, so this resource was created! There is a version that has the answers already filled in and also a version where the students fill in their answers. This would also make a fantastic poster to have up in the classroom to use throughout the school year! There are colored versions as well as black and whit
Use this addition and subtraction strategies cheat sheet to provide students with a variety of strategies for adding and subtracting. Print and laminate to keep posted in the room for students to use when needed. You can also print and provide copies to parents so that they are able to see the different strategies being taught in the classroom.
This chart lists all the factors and multiples in a chart form. Your students can use this to practice their facts as well as a tool for their daily work. It is a more visually friendly alternative to the traditional multiplication chart where kids can get off on the wrong line. I did not include the ones or the twos. This resource includes multiplication/division facts for 3 through 12.

Students will answer the addition problems in the balloons but instead of writing the answer students will color the balloons using the color chart. Each number is assigned to a color.
This worksheet is used for either homework or in class work to practice repeated addition. It can also be used for basic multiplication strategies. First grade is recommended.
This lesson is a wonderful way for students to learn how to distinguish between different types of addition and subtraction problems: Part-Part-Whole, Join, Compare, and Separate. Sample anchor charts and journal entries have been provided. In addition, a detailed description is also included. See supporting materials in the Classify Addition and Subtraction Problems listing!
Use the Color Code System in your class to help your students remember the process of solving problems.

It is in WORD format so you can edit as needed. I often take problems from our Envision Math adoption and put them in this format to assist st

My students eventually learn to make these simple forms on their benchmarks/state tests to confirm they have the correct answer. The form is free, but will not really make sense until the kids watch/learn from the video what the numbers represent. What I like best is that the stu
