This Smartboard notebook file can be used as handouts for students who struggle with setting up their formulas or it can be used on a smartboard. The first set of slides only have boxes. The second set of slides is color coded to assist students even more. I use this with my 7th grade special education students. It is best to print these in landscape form front and back with one slide per page.

Scott Cianci
A set of 5 open-ended problems (one for each day of the week) applying coordinate geometry and geometric translations. Modeled after those types of open-ended questions that appear on state standardized graduation tests. Comes with answer keys and a 4-point scoring rubric that's applicable to all 5 problems in the set. Can be used as a "do now" bell-ringer, anticipatory set, closure activity, extra-credit assignment or as a main lesson in and of itself. By Scott Cianci.

Eratosthenes was a brilliant and well-known mathematician in history. * He devised the sieve analogy that he was able to use to separate prime numbers from composite numbers. ^ The importance of prime numbers is discussed as being the foundation all of natural numbers, and an explanation as to why is given. * Some interesting background on prime numbers is provided in the lesson for students to enjoy. * There are three activities contained in this product. * A concludi

A set of 5 open-ended problems (one for each day of the week) consisting of graphing in the xy coordinate plane and applying the concepts of perimeter and the Pythagorean Theorem. Can also be presented as an application of the distance formula for more advanced students. Modeled after the type of open-ended questions that appear on state standardized graduation tests. Can be used as a "do now" bell-ringer activity, anticipatory set, closure activity, extra-credit assignment or as a main lesso

Students practice performing translations, reflections, rotations and dilations in this interactive activity! Pairs of students take turns coming up to the board to roll a die which corresponds to a transformation to perform in the coordinate plane. While they are drawing on the board, the other students have a handout that they are following along with at their desk. In my classroom we move the desks to the outside of the room and put a coordinate plane on the floor using the tiles and paint
