This activity has students develop how to calculate the midpoint of lines without having prior knowledge of the midpoint formula. At the end, students are asked to calculate the length of a line segment without previously being exposed to the distance formula. To do this, students should have prior knowledge of the Pythagorean Theorem and utilizing triangles to calculate the length of the hypotenuse of a right triangle.
