Volcano Independent Research Project
This is an activity that I give students at the beginning of my volcano unit. The final product is either a song or a children's book. They have the length of the unit to complete the project. Students are given the rubric at the beginning and then you can use the same rubric to grade them at the end.

Students need tools to help them understand measurements. In great science classroom we use lots of hands on learning experiences, but we also need tools that help with retention.
