Lab Safety FREEBIE ~ Science Doodle Notes ~ Visual Notes ~ Lab Safety Quiz

What are doodle notes??Doodle notes are a visual note-taking strategy that will increase student engagement, focus, creativity and concept retention. Recent studies have found that doodling or taking visual notes while studying science material can help enhance learning, engagement, and reasoning. Teaching students to use doodling in class will help them remember more, focus on the topics at hand and generally enjoy the lessons more. Lead your class through the worksheet with the included powerp

Lesson 26 Handout - Impulse and Momentum

Handout to go with a impulse and momentum animated lesson. Each lesson Handout has a separate PowerPoint that can be found on Teachers Pay Teachers and a webpage which includes a video of the lesson. All versions of lesson delivery are synchronous covering the same content the same way. Each lesson includes a problem set for an additional day of practice. Use this webpage here to preview this lesson content which students can use during an asynchronous lessonFind the lesson PowerPoint for a sy

Graphing Notes and formative assessment

This is a basic note-taking presentation on three types of graphs: Line, bar, and pie charts. The last few slides provide a formative assessment to see if your students can tell which type of graph to use with different kinds of data. This presentation pairs with my hand-made Graphically Organized Notes on graphs, which can also be found for free in my TPT store!

Concept Checklist and Tracker for Quizzes - Growth Mindset and Mastery

Inspired by Dan Meyer's concept checklist! Every quiz is numbered and has the concept written at the top. For example: #16 Solving absolute value equations. Students can score a 1-4. Students can retake the quizzes as many times as they need to! The student fills in the larger bubbles as they improve. For students to want mastery, I give them a quiz with a more complex problems and if they get that correct they get a physical gold star sticker. This is a great way to promote the growth mindset a

Jupiter's Moons | Infographics + Slides + Podcast + Quiz Space Science Set FREE

Studying Jupiter’s moons gives middle and high school students a fascinating way to learn how gravity shapes systems, how worlds can be radically different even within the same neighborhood, and how scientists use evidence to investigate places we cannot visit directly. The Galilean moons connect clearly to curriculum topics such as orbits and motion, tides and energy transfer, magnetism, surface geology, and the search for conditions that could support life, especially when students compare vol

The Artemis Missions | Infographics + Slides + Podcast + Quiz Space Science Set

Studying the Artemis missions is important for middle and high school science because it helps students understand how modern space exploration combines physics, engineering, technology, human biology, and problem solving to achieve ambitious goals beyond Earth. This topic connects directly to key curriculum ideas such as rocket forces and motion, gravity and orbits, energy systems, life support, lunar science, and the design and testing of spacecraft, while also showing how scientists and engin

Standard Candles | Infographics + Slides + Podcast + Quiz | Space Science FREE

Studying standard candles helps middle and high school students understand how astronomers measure distance across space using light, turning a huge, abstract universe into something that can be mapped with evidence and mathematics. Standard candles connect directly to curriculum concepts such as brightness versus luminosity, inverse square relationships, graphs and proportional reasoning, and how scientific measurements include uncertainty and calibration. This topic also builds scientific lit

This short activity allows students to calculate their own percent error based on how well they can play "trashket ball." I used this to introduce the idea of percent error and it helped students understand that even if you get a higher number than you should have, you still have error.

Basic Terms and Definitions for Experimental Physics

A major theme throughout experimental physics is error/uncertainty analysis and analyzing precision and accuracy. Primary ways of doing so are through means, standard deviations, coefficients of determination (R^2), percent difference, and percent error. This packet gives a brief overview of their definitions and how to apply them. It makes a good reference handout to students taking a lab class.
