Finding Inverse Functions Anchor Chart

Finding inverse functions is an essential skill in learning how to use math in real-world situations. This anchor chart outlines the four steps that students can use to find those inverse functions. I made sure to use a starting function that needs a few operations to show that the best strategy to solve for y is to use PEMDAS in reverse. This is optimized to be printed as an 18”x24” poster, and it can be uploaded to Staples or any similar print shop website.

This flow chart gives a structured way to solve a quadratic equation. I came up with this after noticing that even my pre-calculus and calculus students spent a lot of time (when they reached a quadratic equation) trying to factor. If the students use this regularly, they will remember the method and save a lot of time. A good strategy for preparing for SATs too.
