This is a great way to practice the concept of 10 More and 10 Less with change! My students loved this activity and the record sheet helped me to understand their knowledge of the subject! Students have learned to use arrays to assist them in solving multiplication. Prezi presentation with strategies to multiply by 5 and 10
This prezi was created for my students using the Go Math Curricula. The students compare multiplying with 5 with telling time and counting nickles. Students also compare multiplying by 10 with counting groups of dimes. Skipping counting, using the multiplication chart and doubling the products of 5 to get multiplies of 10 are explained during the presentation. Students could watch the prezi as an engagement activity or a way to review and strengthen their existing skills.
