Dividing Fractions - Using Pattern Blocks and Number Lines
Teach students how do divide fractions using pictures and help them understand why you have to invert and multiply when dividing fractions. 5 divided by 4/6. The question is how many 4/6 are there in 5? Your whole is now changing and you are taking out set of 4, that is why the denominator becomes fourths. Teach students how to understand a hard concept visually.

Place Value and Maps: Continents and States on a Grid
Six activities, each a grid pattern formed by Base 10 Blocks: 100s Flats, 10s Rods, and 1s squares superimposed over an outline map of a continent or state.
Students first estimate the number value contained within the outline. They then count and record the number of Hundreds, Tens, and Ones, and add the total, and write the number in standard form, expanded form, place value form, and in words.
Numbers go into the low 4-digits. Appropriate for students who are learning place value
