First Grade Number Sense Elimination Cards (with pictures 3-4)
Two sets of cards for numbers 3 and 4. Four sets of objects are shown on each card. Student has to choose which of the four sets does not equal the number (thereby "eliminating" it). Answer on the back of each card. This is one of four sets (others can also be found free on TPT). Helps students see how different sets can be equal to each other and how others cannot. Can be used as an independent game, a formative assessment with a teacher one-on-one or for small group instruction.

This project is a great multi-day project for a business or college and career type math class. It divides up the reading of the 13 chapters of the Dave Ramsey book, The Complete Guide to Money, and students teach each other what they learned from reading their chapter. Plan a feast - Decomposing and Addition with Fractions
This is a simple project I assigned to students who passed Everyday Math Unit 5 as a pre-test. The project allows for student voice and choice, while they use decomposing and the addition of fractions to create a meal plan for a weekend getaway.

Square Dance Lyrics and Chords
These lyrics are designed to accompany my song, "Square Dance," which was created to help elementary school students with memorizing multiplication facts (namely, squaring numbers). Montessori teachers will notice that the graphics are based on the colored bead bars that we use in our math curriculum, but the visuals will nicely supplement any elementary math curriculum. A free MP3 recording of the song, as well as instructions and graphics, are also available on TpT.

Graphing Conversation Hearts
A must-have activity for Valentine's Day. Students will count and graph the colors in their box of conversation hearts. Page 2 asks students to use the numbers they graphed to create and solve addition problems. I've pre-made both pages to show: pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. However, because this is a word document, you are free to edit the colors to fit your needs.
