Addition and Subtraction of Integers
This lesson allows students to discover how to add and subtract integers. Use the rules for multiplication of integers to eliminate double signs. Manipulatives are used for students to conceptualize their understanding. I used yellow and blue hexalink cubes to represent positive and negative one. Rounding decimals is very similar to rounding whole numbers. Students will still follow the same rules. To be sure you are rounding to the correct place value, underline the accurate digit and circle the digit to the right.
