Today’s activity is perfect for your Pre-K to 2nd grade students. This is a great activity for the beginning of the school year! Meet Scrappy the Bear, he is a bear with a story to tell to your class. At the end of the story please use ‘Scrappy’ to create a glyph. For younger students, it will be crucial for you to model your own glyph first. I highly suggest printing ‘Scrappy’ on cardstock, to increase his durability. Begin by reading the story “Scrappy the Bear” to your class. I usual

The first day of school is one of the scariest for teachers, parents and students. The scariest time of day is getting those sweet babies home to the places they are supposed to be. During my math time I make a graph asking kids how they go home. They put their names under the circles. We then make a chart of the ways everyone goes home. (I also double, and triple check my records to make sure they know where they are supposed to be going).
