In this activity, your students will put their knowledge of finding percents to the test. They have to find the basic area of a handful of rooms on a floor plan. Once they have the areas, they then are tasked with finding what fraction of the floor the room takes up and they must convert it to a decimal value as well. From there, they must compute the percent the room takes up.
In this Board Session students will…
-find the range, mean, median, mode
-make a box-and-whisker plot and a stem-and-leaf plot
-work with exponents, order of operations and arithmetic
-work with a square finding area & perimeter using different
measures
-estimate the answers to one-step equations mentally
-convert measures
-sketch 2- and 3-dimensional figures
-arrange some rational numbers from least to greatest

General statistics quiz on all things dealing with sixth grade stats. Students have to label different types of stats (box plot, histogram, etc.), identify which vocabulary word the clues define, and use their knowledge of the statistics unit to have a better understanding of what each type of statistical data was used for. Because there was so much vocabulary associated with the stats unit, I did a vocab quiz at the same time, they were learning the class material to help them gain a better u

This is a short warm up quiz that I give students in an Introduction to Statistics course. The quiz is made up of questions related to mutually exclusive events, probability from a table, and using the addition rule.
This worksheet will be a great review sheet or longer two-page test to comprehensively cover all the necessary topics in your probability unit. Questions included cover: *Chances of spinner colors *Probability of pizza orders *Probability of 8-sided die rolls *Pulling marbles from a bag, both independently and dependently Assignment fits on one double-sided sheet. Includes an answer key.
