This is a homework sheet I created for students to use after I teach the four strategies of multiplication. Since Common Core is all about using different strategies, this homework asks that students use ALL four ways to complete the multiplication problem. These problems are from 2x2 to 2x4 digit multiplication (ie as small as 25 x 34 up to 24 x 2356). Ratios: Using Excel to Demonstrate the use of Tape Diagrams and Tables
This Excel spreadsheet is for whole class discussion and/or individual use. The presenter (or student) can change the titles of things being compared and then use buttons to easily change the ratio. As the ratio is modified, the Tape Diagram is automatically created!
From there, you can use the built in slider to change the factor for each box in the tape diagram. As you do this the totals are automatically calculated and a table is shown!

This is a Spreadsheet for showing students where their money goes after taxes and bills. The student picks a reasonable career and inputs the gross salary income and can see where their money goes toward. The lesson is great to show percents and talk about taxes. Students really liked the exercise and had fun seeing if their job would provide what they thought it would.
