TIP: Place in a dry-erase pocket. Good for modeling or when working with students struggling with adding/subtracting with expanded form. I made this as a tool for a student who struggled with setting-up the problem accurately & neatly. Place value is important because it helps students understand the meaning of a number. This chart is a color-coded visual outlining the place value of digits in numbers through a million. Laminate this chart in order to make it interactive. State a number out loud. Using a dry erase marker, have students correctly write the number based upon place value. Erase and continue practicing with different numbers!
