Having Students Take Initiative for their Grades
Here and there I have my students fill one of these out after looking at their grades, so that they can become more responsible. The great thing about this is it allows them and their parents to see what actions they can take in order to get a better grade. Something I really believe is that most students who have bad grades, have that grade because they don't know how to get a better grade.
