Measurement Classroom Scavenger Hunt
This is an activity I did with High-School students as a review of how to use a ruler. (There are many free variations of this activity out there, but this one is editable in MS-Word!) Students worked with a partner to find objects in my room of the appropriate lengths. The pair with the lowest average differences got a granola bar, but you do you in your room. Holiday Homework Sheet for Math
Before your next holiday break, pass out this math homework activity. Instead of directing students to complete a list of math problems, the activity encourages them to participate in math-related activities with their family members at home. After they have made notes about their activities and gotten signatures from adults, they can return the sheet for credit in math class.
