Looking for a way to teach a super important life skill? How about home science experiments? What better kitchen science experiment to do none other then, cooking! Why not blend it was NGSS: Matter and its Interactions by cooking with yeast! Cooking with yeast is a fun way for students to learn about chemical reactions in our food. Cooking with yeast can be done virtually (as I have been doing) and in the classroom. You can scale it down to only activate the yeast or go ahead and bake the bread.

Thermal Energy Notes, Questions, and more

Notes for the following terms: thermal energy transformation, heating appliances, thermostats, refrigerators, heat engine. Notes provide great details, examples, and images. These are followed by 3 short constructed response questions. Next, there is a brief activity where Celcius, Farenheit, and Kelvin scale temperatures are compared. Finally, there are two closing questions. This also works as a great sub plan for science as you can print this out, or use it digitally.
