Number Scavenger Hunt Project
This is a math at-home project about numbers. Students have to find numbers that match the characteristics on the scavenger hunt.
I have included the directions for the students, the rubric I use to grade it, and directions for the teacher.
This is a realistic way to get the students to have fun with homework.
I have done this in third grade, but with common core coming to us, this would work well in 2nd grade in the future.

Multiplication Word Problem Project
This is a cross curricular project for math and writing. The students have to make a booklet of multiplication word problems. Students have to cut a picture out of a magazine, write a word problem, write an equation, and solve the problem.
Included are the student directions and a rubric I use to grade the project.
There is a sample page in the student directions.
My third grade students enjoyed doing this project and it helped them understand word problems after they wrote some.

In this engaging performance task, students solve Halloween themed story problems in multiplication and division. They are asked to create a poster, PowerPoint or book and show their work in multiple ways.
