This is a short assessment that I use with my class after completing separation of powers in our Constitution Unit of Social Studies. It provides them with some real life examples of how the three branches of our government work together and provide checks and balances. This was created for a self contained middle school classroom and went over well in grades 6-8 with students functioning on reading levels from K-5.
