Introduction to Limits Day 1 AP Calculus AB BC
AP Calculus AB or BC worksheet introducing the idea of limits. I use this on the very first day of the Limits Unit. Students learn about limits using tables and graphs, and distinguish limit notation from function notation. This worksheet could also be used in Precalculus at the end of the year.

The graph of this function represents all ordered pair combinations of two kinds of candy that can be bought with $50. This application works for both 8th grade and algebra-1. If you are using it for an algebra-1 class, you could use function notation. 8th graders are not required to use function notation in Common Core. I have included a detailed answer key.
