Students start with reviewing the inverse function of a linear function, then students explore the inverse of an exponential function with base bigger than 1 and the inverse of an exponential function with base between 0 and 1.
Then, students look at the properties of all three functions: domain, range, x-intercept, y-intercept, intervals for which the function is positive/negative, intervals for which the function is increasing/decreasing, and any asymptote.
