This is a 2 page assessment that can be used as a quiz or as a conference recording sheet when meeting with students one-on-one. It asks students to name the names of coins, the value of them, and also skip count by the value of pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, loonies, and toonies. It is based on the Canadian coins and compatible with the expectations for money in the new 2020 Math curriculum for Grade 1-2 students. If needed it could be used as a diagnostic for grade 3 students as well.
