Halloween Physics Color by Number Pumpkin Velocity, Acc, Free Fall

I've included both a one page portrait version and a 2 page version. Some teachers prefer the two pages because it makes a nicer picture to hang up, but it is more copying. Get your inner ghoul on, have fun doing this Halloween worksheet. It's truly frightening. Answer the questions on the question sheet and match up the answer with its color. So if the answer to number 1 matches up with the color yellow, where ever you see the #1, color it yellow. Example problems: 1. A witch is riding her bro

Worksheet with sixteen different scenarios where students are asked to identify the forces present in each so they can draw the relating free body diagram. Whenever I do this, I try to demonstrate each scenario at the front of the classroom. For example, I have strings hanging from the ceiling where I can easily attach different masses, springs, pulleys, etc. in an effort to mimic the illustrations shown in the worksheet. With each demonstration, we then go through and discuss what forces are

A colleague had a similar activity that I “stole” this idea from. It’s such a great way to have students “play” with free-body diagrams. I tell students to do their best and try it on their own first, then we come together as a class and discuss our results. Every time they are able to get the correct answers without any “lecture” from me! That’s VERY teacher friendly!
