Many middle school students that shy away from algebra are simply intimidated or confused by the variables. I often hear; "why does math have letters now?". For this quick intro activity, the "x" has been removed and replaced with a blank space that needs to be solved in order to complete the puzzle.

I've designed a chore chart for the students to choose from as they enter the Art room. Each chore is colored coded with three coordinating color strips. This way only 3 students are assigned to each chore. I hope this this will maximize clean up efficiency and student accountability. We all have students that don't think they need to clean up and a few that do all the cleaning :) I have provided the titles and descriptions so you can use what you want and design them your way.
