A Basic Lesson on Copyright and Intellectual Property
This 30-minute lesson (which could easily be extended to almost an hour, since your students will have a lot of questions) introduces students in grades 4 and up to the basic ideas of copyright law. Students will:
1) Briefly discuss what they already know,
2) Take a 5 question quiz about what to do in situations where copyright is often broken,
3) Look at simplified, elementary-age-appropriate definitions of the words intellectual property, copyright, patent, and trademark,

High Frequency Words FREEBIE powerpoint lesson and flash cards
I designed this in a powerpoint format to make it quick and easy to pull up on an ipad, smartboard, or laptop and use with your groups. The format is very simple to decrease distractions as students learn.
Each slideshow contains 8 high frequency words. The word will appear at the top of the slide. Click to spell the word letter by letter. Then, click again to reveal a sentence. Students can then brainstorm new sentences with the vocabulary word.
