I always felt that kids had trouble understanding one step at a time. They just wanted to jump ahead but computers can only process one step at a time, so I decided that the kids could create complex animations in Python Turtle by controlling graphics using for loops. Now, I didn't let them just do whatever they wanted. You can't design rubrics that way! They have to follow very tight rules to draw the backgrounds and animate only the objects when they move across the screen. Isn't that really

Otherwise known as the bunny project, Large List Mystery Filter involves the use of a large list of unsorted coordinates that will create a drawing of a bunny using the scratch pen extension. This project could also be done with python turtle graphics for interested students. The point lists must be imported into scratch lists manually. Enjoy. Students really struggled but also enjoyed it if they could figure out plotting the points on their own. No answer key included :)
