Microsoft Excel Mastery Grid

Inspired by the grid method created by Chad Ostrowski, this mastery grid will open the door for students with diverse skill levels and educational backgrounds to learn how to use Microsoft Excel. This project is not about the "what", but more so about the "how". Students will have to research how to perform the requested skills and apply them in an excel spreadsheet. The only thing I had to teach the class was how to save a spreadsheet (If you don't operate in a computer lab where their files ca

Project to accompany the Introduction to Virtual Reality codehs.com course. Students loved learning in the "Introduction to Virtual Reality" course in codehs, I saw the highest engagement from any class when I worked through that course. Students will be directed to recreate their school using the A-Frame coding language. Love teaching the students how to create VR worlds after a long school year filled with teaching them about hardware and software concepts.

A nice research activity, especially if you need a quick assignment for a substitute teacher. The basis of this assignment is to help "grandma" with her technology-based questions. Questions must be answered in 4-5 sentences (subject to instructors discretion). Example questions: "Now you know your grandma'ma loves to recycle, but why is there a recycle bin on my computer? What is it used for and who empties the recycle bin?""I was at my book club last week and I heard some of the ladies talk a

Great resource to use as an end of grading period/semester assessment. When I have my students learn the python coding language on codehs.com I like to enroll them into the "INTRODUCTION TO PROGRAMMING WITH TURTLE GRAPHICS" course. Once they complete the exercises up to the "USER INPUT" section I use this project as a summative assessment. The goal is to create a program that obtains two colors from the user and creates a drawing of an ipod with the specific color given by the user. Great for py
