About the store

Experience

I am a Middle School based speech-language pathologist based in Long Island, New York, and I love what I do! I have worked in public schools for 12 years now, ranging from pre-school, up to and including students aging out of high school at 22. I have previously worked doing private, home cases and early intervention speech therapy and evaluations.

Teaching style

I like to think outside of the usual speech and language box, in order to create fun, interactive therapeutic materials and sessions that keep my students actively engaged and learning! I know that if I am finding a lesson dull, then I must find a way to re-think my approach so that the lesson is memorable and valuable towards mastery of their speech and language, social, and even academic goals!

My own education history

I graduated from SUNY Geneseo with my undergraduate degree in Communicative Disorders and Sciences, then went to get my Master's degree at LIU Post in Speech-Language Pathology.

Additional biographical information

I also enjoy working with members of the Deaf community as an experienced user of American Sign Language throughout my attendance at SUNY Geneseo, as well as my brief employment for summer session at the Cleary School for the Deaf. I enjoy taking American Sign Language courses from time to time to continue to expand my knowledge! If you have any questions, feel free to email me at 1k00kySLP@gmail.com!
