I have taught 7th, 8th, and high school math for 3 years now. I am certified in secondary and middle grades, ESL, and I am currently working on my Masters in Math Teaching
This is a guided activity, individual practice, skills showcase, and assessment. It covers measuring angles in polygons, adding angles to create specific angle measures, and then actually measuring angles (you can estimate). Materials needed: pattern blocks
This file contains 3 quizzes. One regular quiz, a modified one, and an advanced one. Each quiz has a key included (pg 4-6 of the document). Some material was borrowed from various curriculum, but I compiled and created this quiz.
Topics assessed:
Pythagorean theorem
Corollaries of the Pythagorean Theorem
Pythagorean Triples
Word problems involving Pythagorean Theorem/ Triples
In my geometry class I give a daily homework quiz. This is generally one question from the homework they have to copy and answer. They will staple this sheet (cut into thirds) to the front top of their paper and turn it in. I grade homework on completion and 30% of their grade is if they got this question (or questions) right.

This is designed for a high school geometry course. Print the PDF front to back, fold over leaving "undefined terms" visible on the side. Instruct students to cut on the lines under each term so you can lift and see the picture and description (for you to fill out with them).
Great for an interactive notebook!
This is a card matching game for quadrilaterals. When photocopied front and back, the cards will line up. Page 1 pairs with page 3, 2 with page 4, and 5 and 6 go together (with two blanks in case you want to add to it)
When you cut the cards out, there are 8 per page. I generally print them on card stock and laminate them before cutting. There are 18 cards in a set. Students should start with the cards that have the description and image side up, and when they match them they can flip it over to
I use this in my geometry class as their first quiz. It covers the undefinable terms, segment addition postulate, angle addition postulate, linear pairs, and vertical angles.
This is a diagram created on power point that shows the relationships between the legs and hypotenuse of special right triangles. Specific relationships are color coded for easy identification.

Teaching style
I prefer to do as little direct instruction as possible. I think that kids learn best from doing, and from experiences and discussions with their peers.
