I have taught 7th, 8th, and high school math for 3 years now. I am certified in secondary and middle grades, ESL, and I am currently working on my Masters in Math Teaching
This is a guided activity, individual practice, skills showcase, and assessment. It covers measuring angles in polygons, adding angles to create specific angle measures, and then actually measuring angles (you can estimate). Materials needed: pattern blocks
This is a step by step lesson that can be used to teach students how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide integers with two color counters
If you do not have access to these counters at your school you can use the website provided as a virtual manipulative, or you can create counters by using "chips" like tiddily winks, or even foam squares (glue two sheets together for the two colored sides).

Experience
I have taught 7th, 8th, and high school math for 3 years now. I am certified in secondary and middle grades, ESL, and I am currently working on my Masters in Math Teaching
Teaching style
I prefer to do as little direct instruction as possible. I think that kids learn best from doing, and from experiences and discussions with their peers.
