I used this activity at the beginning of the Geometry school year to introduce my students to constructions. We played with the compasses during class and then I modeled how to create the 6 petal daisy. Students received this guided booklet with precise step-by-step examples to complete on their own. I use these task cards as a group activity. I put the printed out slides in a sheet protector or laminate them and then let the group write on them with a dry erase marker, identifying all of the key features. When time is up, they pass the task card to the next group and start the next one. It's great practice, develops strong mathematical discussions and students don't realize how many problems and key features they are actually practicing all at once!
