Super fun three-digit subtraction activity with and without regrouping! Students roll a die to make a number and draw from the story-maker cards to make a funny story problem. Students enjoy this game and pretending to operate the Story Maker Machine. This is a great activity to allow students to get the practice they need on subtraction with regrouping. Extra sheets included to modify this activity for easier or more challenging numbers. Write On/Wipe Off.

This is a unit I created to supplement 2nd grade Math in Focus Chapter 4, but can be a useful way to interpret story problems in younger and older grades. It uses facts from the Mayflower and first Thanksgiving.
