About the store
I am in my 12th year of teaching. First graders are definitely the best age of kiddos to teach! I can't explain the amount of love I have for teaching them to read and watch their growth throughout the entire year. It is astonishing! I have been making powerpoints and many activities and graphic organizers for my own classroom and other teachers for awhile now. Now I just need to make the time to post them on here! (That's more than half the battle!)

I took this idea from another blog and made my own sheet. The other sheet that I uploaded from google docs did not have big enough spaces for a 5-6 year old to write in. I recreated the spaces to write the numbers and draw the dots of the dominos. All you need for this math workstation is : Domino Addition or Domino Subtraction recording sheet, a pretty colored pencil and dominos. :0)

“Subitizing is a hot topic in math education circles. Subitizing means ‘instantly seeing how many.’ Math educators have discovered that the ability to see numbers in patterns is the foundation of strong number sense. The ability to visualize and understand numbers and numeration supports operational fluency and the ability to add and subtract mentally, to see relationships between numbers, and to see patterns.” Webster, Jerry. Awards & shining teacher moments

The only awards I need are the ones I get from my students on a day-to-day basis!

My own education history

Grew up in Memphis, TN. Moved to Chattanooga for college and couldn't be more happy! It is BEAUTIFUL here.

Additional biographical information

I love spending any free time making stuff for my classroom, hunting down goodies at flea markets and garage sales, crafting and making my home more beautiful and fun, spending time with my husband and our 2 kiddos, and always on the lookout for a new way I can reach my kids!
