We are all trying to find different ways to help our students explore exponentials. This is a new tested area on the STAAR in Texas, and in other state mandated tests. If you have ever worked with Faye Whitlow, or heard of "Math the Whitlow Way", we sat down and reviewed this Exponential Game with her. She said, "It works, its easy to use, and it's good for kids". Try it with your students. This is an excellent way to help students reinforce this new STAAR tested concept.
Many students do not like math, or just don't get it. I have many of my students that remeber concepts through word association or color schemes. I developed this Pythagorean Theorem Quick Reference Guide to appeal to the "Just don't get it" student. We all have them sitting in our classroom. They may not be able to remeber a, b, or c. After you share this word association with them, they will always remember Apple, Boy, and Chicken.
