About the store

Experience

I have experience working with children in grades PK - 8th grade. I've taught General Education students, and Special Education students in public and private school settings.

Teaching style

I believe in "Maslow before Bloom". Children need to have their basic needs met first (including social-emotional needs!) before children are open for learning. For that reason, I am constantly researching new social-emotional strategies for the classroom that can help children feel safe and secure in school. I also try to include as many Multiple Intelligences activities, and project-based learning opportunities as possible.

My own education history

I am dual certified in Elementary Education (K-6) and Special Education (K-12). I am currently working toward Reading Specialist certification.

Additional biographical information

I love what I do! I find it thrilling to come to work every day and help my students learn and grow. I love finding new and exciting ways to teach my students that are researched based and tied to the common core.
