5th Graders Learn

I am a certified elementary educator with 12 years of classroom experience, having taught in general education, self-contained, and inclusion settings. I’ve worked with students in kindergarten through fifth grade, with a particular passion for teaching math and science. I especially enjoy working with upper elementary students and helping them build confidence and curiosity in these subjects.

I believe the classroom is a sanctuary—a place where both students and teachers grow, discover, and transform. It should radiate positive energy, filled with laughter, smiles, and meaningful connections. Students should be encouraged to question, wonder, and think creatively. They deserve the time, space, resources, and opportunities for hands-on learning that sparks curiosity and deep understanding. Above all, students need to feel valued and know they have something important to contribute. Teachers play a vital role in this by truly knowing their students—understanding what motivates them, what challenges them, and what brings them joy.
