About the store
After graduating in 2009, I taught grade 5/6 for six months in Kathmandu, Nepal. Then, I taught grade 4 at an international school in Bangkok, Thailand, for two years. After that, I taught young adults about inter-cultural respect and how to recognise the subtle influence of ethnocentrism that creeps up when volunteering overseas. Since returning to Canada, I have taught grades 3-5 with the local public board.

Experience

After graduating in 2009, I taught grade 5/6 for six months in Kathmandu, Nepal. Then, I taught grade 4 at an international school in Bangkok, Thailand, for two years. After that, I taught young adults about inter-cultural respect and how to recognise the subtle influence of ethnocentrism that creeps up when volunteering overseas. Since returning to Canada, I have taught grades 3-5 with the local public board.

Teaching style

I am a high-structure teacher when it comes to planning and organising where I want to go, and what data I need to collect. In the classroom, I prefer to teach conversationally. I like to ask questions that get students to think about a topic or issue from a different angle, and then sit back and listen to them discuss.

My own education history

I graduated in 2009 with an Honours BA in Contemporary Studies and History, and a BEd in Junior/Intermediate History. I have since also earned my Primary and Senior History qualifications. AQs: - ESL Part 1 - Spec Ed Part 1&2 - Primary Math Parts 1&2 - Teaching Through e-Learning - Alternative Education - Teaching Students with Behavioural Needs - Teaching Students with Communication Needs
