This packet includes a vocabulary list and examples to help show students the different parts of poems and dramas. Memorizing the different parts without examples just leads to confusion. I’m really pushing growth mindset with my kids this year. My school has a very high achieving students, and ‘failure’ can be a very scary concept (for both the kids and the parents). These can be used as writing prompts, as a morning reflection, or even just as conversation starters with your students. There are 12 separate quotes- 4 per page, so you can cut up slips with the questions to hand o
This is a compiled Google Doc of 18 warm-ups- usually 4 problems (but ranges 1-4)- with which to start off your math block. They're meant to be a quick formative assessment on student understanding of already covered material. There are four 'copies' to a page to save on printing. Material covered: Division Word Problems Fraction (and Mixed Number) Ops Decimal Ops Order of Operation

I've also included 3 pages of book recommendations with summaries, book level, and AR Points.

This resource is aimed at increasing engagement during your decimal operations unit. Students randomly draw an occupation before they begin. They then use the given monthly salary (based on the average salary in North Carolina before taxes...) to determine what they can afford. Some kids will be able to afford the best of everything. Some will have to make some hard choices! Prices are based on current averages and actual costs in our area (Asheville, North Carolina). Obviously, things might
