The Price of Life: A Real World Adding and Subtracting Decimals Activity
This resource is aimed at increasing engagement during your decimal operations unit. Students randomly draw an occupation before they begin. They then use the given monthly salary (based on the average salary in North Carolina before taxes...) to determine what they can afford. Some kids will be able to afford the best of everything. Fraction Decimal Percent Conversion- Art Activity
Students get to have fun creating a fun design in the 10x10 square- but then they have to do the math! For each color, they need to record the equivalent value as a decimal, fraction (including simplest form), and percent.
