This is an activity for students to choose an object from their desks or around classroom to measure its mass. For example students may choose a marker. Then they estimate the mass in grams of the marker. Next they find the exact mass of the marker using a balance. Lastly students find the difference between the estimate and the exact mass. Students continue on a mass scavenger hunt around the room. This could be used during a lesson, math center, or stations.
