About the store
24-25 is my 14th year in alternative and urban, public education. I am working to revise and add more materials that address the NGSS standards while appropriately meeting students' needs and learning gaps. I love the fact that I've been able to teach both 9th grade and 12th grade. In my 9th grade course, I focus on two "learning paths:" the first being a student and the second being content with the vision of what I need my students to be when they return to me as a senior.

Great resource to get kids up and moving to determine their speed of skipping and walking different distances. Addresses prior knowledge of speed, distance, and time to lay the foundation for a physical science course.

I just took over a low level sixth grade general science class. The students are currently learning about weather and climate. We are intensive on reading standardized test prompts and analyzing the information. This was an activity I created to break up the monotony and see how much they were understanding on their reading comprehension. This followed a reading on the various types of clouds.

Teaching style

Inquiry based instruction Discussion based lecture Project based learning However, the most important classroom "style" or strategy is relationship building with students; they need to understand that you're there for more than just curriculum. "You never teach a child a subject, you always teach a child. You teach children in a way that they will learn, and then things will fall in place for them." --Dorothy Height
