This is a PowerPoint presentation that introduces the basic rules of photography composition. It was created for a digital photography class, but would work just as nicely with a film photography class. The presentation introduces the following rules of composition: point, line, shape/pattern, formal balance, informal balance, emphasis, contrast, and rule of thirds. Accompanying each rule is a simple explanation and a photo that demonstrates the rule.
