Hi! I'm Mary Liz, behind ABC123wi! I live in Wisconsin and I love it! Sometimes the winter months I regret living in such a cold state, but then spring comes and everything changes for the better! Flowers bloom, weather gets warmer, and you see baby animals all over! I love it mostly because while teaching the season we can bring the learning outside and look at the changes our season brings us! I graduated at Cardinal Strich University with a degree in Elementary Education. I always saw myself in kindergarten or 1st grade, but then I started a job in preschool (3/4 year olds) and I LOVED IT! I am starting my 4th year teaching, and I still have the same love for education as when I started! Every year gets a bit easier. I have learned to work smarter not harder...yet I still feel like I'm never caught up! I have so much fun watching the kiddos love for learning grow! This year I am working at the same school, but I moved up a grade to 4K! I will be helping my little learners get ready for kindergarten!! I am so excited to start the school year!

Teaching style

My teaching style is all hands on learning through play, art, and dance! I love taking the kiddos outside to make the classroom outside, but the winter months can be hard while in Wisconsin. I believe students learn best by hands on, creating, investigating, getting messy, and problem solving with their friends. I strongly believe children needs to be around other children to learn, laugh, and have fun by making memories with teachers and their friends. In my classroom there is a reason for every toy, activity, song, and the set up of the classroom for a play based learning. My classroom is a warm welcoming 2nd home to my students. I understand that early childhood education is the stepping stones in a child's future and it is my job to make student's life long learners!

My own education history

I graduated from Cardinal Stritch University in 2015. I studied special education and literacy. I learned so much and I am so grateful for all my teachers at Stritch. They have pushed me to do more and dig deeper for my love of teaching.

Additional biographical information

I have been married to my husband, Jake, for four amazing years! I wouldn't change anything him, he's perfect! Now we are focusing on starting our family...taking a bit longer then I thought. I have six brothers and two sisters with the best parents any child could ask for! They were always there for me just like my siblings. We are a close family that we all text or see daily. I love my big family. Yes, it's crazy, but I wouldn't change it for anything! I am new to TPT and I am so excited to get started and to share my passion for education! I hope to inspire others and get to know other TPT sellers/buyers!
