This is essentially a 30-minute activity that builds confidence (especially in drawing) and skills in persevering. Students do four quick guided drawing activities, drawing a different eye each time. Their final product on the handout shows proof of rapid growth more often than not, and students see positive results of their persistence and willingness to try.

I've started using weekly slide decks with the same layout each time for my virtual classes. It keeps a sense of routine and order, and I post them with links and videos for the kids to refer back to throughout the term. I change up the colors/backgrounds every few weeks to keep things fun for the kids (and myself), but here is my winter one!
