This could be used as a mini-unit at the beginning of the school year. Students are asked to trace, circle, draw lines, and cut and paste. They do not need to know how to write numbers. There are ten days of activities that could be used for distance learning: Six activities are double-sided worksheets. Four of the activities are cut and paste.
Students will roll the dice and write the numbers on the line. Then they will compare the numbers using less than ( < ), greater than ( > ), or equal to (=). More advanced students could roll two dice to compare double-digit numbers.
Rapid Automatized Naming (RAN) is important because it is a strong predictor of reading success, especially in early childhood. RAN tasks measure how quickly and accurately a child can name familiar symbols or letters. This reflects how efficiently the brain can access and retrieve verbal labels from memory — a skill crucial for fluent reading. Therefore, RAN is often used as part of early screening for reading difficulties and aligns with the science of reading. I created these slides to hel

Students roll a die and write the number in the middle house. Then they write the number that is one more in the house to the right. They write the number that is one less in the house to the left. This is a fun craft to use when learning about national symbols or celebrating the Fourth of July. It could also be a fun craft for younger students to make with their big buddies. Making the pedestal reinforces students' understanding of cubes and rectangular prisms.
I created these worksheets to help my students review phonological awareness (and phonemic awareness) skills at the end of the year. There are twelve worksheets. They could be photocopied back-to-back to create five days of review and one final assessment. These worksheets can help students gain flexibility with phoneme isolation in different parts of the words, and counting syllables vs. sounds. There are 10 days of practice worksheets (double-sided) to help students learn to write and recognize the numbers 0-10. All numbers are traced every day to give students practice with proper formation. Each day focuses on writing a new number independently and identifying ways to show that number. Some of the pages include practice with color words as students are asked to color a specified number of objects. Some pages provide practice with counting objects and writing the number. This coul
This is a quick prep ghost activity that could be used after reading the book Gustavo or to write an opinion about ghosts. There is one version with the dotted primary line, and there is a second version with no dotted line. They both have an option for a second page if your students are more advanced authors. You could print the eyes on black paper or have students draw their own eyes. The pink cheeks can be drawn with a pink crayon or oil pastel.
Scientists use their five senses to explore and discover. This poster helps students remember the five senses. It can also help them realize that they, too, are scientists!
I created these books because I needed sight word stories that did not follow a pattern. They do not require students to decode, but they provide a foundation for structured literacy and the science of reading in that the sight words are taught explicitly and reviewed often. Students must focus on the sight words and picture support rather than memorizing a pattern. The books include cumulative review of sight words and a variety of punctuation marks. Students attend to the print and gain
