This activity is designed to introduce your students to valence electron trends. They will create a periodic table of the first 20+ elements showing the electron configuration using stickers as electrons. They will then look for trends within groups and periods and use what they see to become familiar with the idea of losing and gaining electrons and the associated oxidation number. This can also be used as a springboard to ionic bonding.
